Designed to satisfy the needs of those who require better barrier penetration and prefer the protection of a full-size pistol. When fired through common urban barriers, Critical Duty® is equipped with the strong Hornady® FlexLock® bullet, which provides "barrier blind" performance.

In FBI tactical handgun ammunition tests, the FlexLock® bullet includes two groundbreaking Hornady® innovations to enable improved barrier penetration and consistent performance (FBI Protocol).

The revolutionary Hornady® Flex Tip® design helps bullet expansion and avoids clogging. The bullet and core are kept together by a broad mechanical jacket-to-core InterLock® band, which ensures maximum weight retention, outstanding expansion, constant penetration, and terminal performance through all FBI test obstacles. Bright nickel-plated casings make chamber checks easier in low-light situations. Additionally, all Critical Duty® ammunition contains a low flash propellant that helps to protect night vision while firing in low-light conditions.

Nickel plating resists corrosion and greatly enhances low-light chamber checks. The cannelured bullet with crimped case ensures no bullet setback during feeding.
